funeral, user picture, stuff

Well, we (me and my parental units) when to the funeral of mother’s friend’s mother. It was sad, and interesting. Interesting because I had never seen a catholic church before. :P It was huge.

Anyway, I will miss my mother’s friend’s mother. Back in march, we all went to a Museum together; Me, my father, my mother, her friend, the friend’s sister, and the friend’s mother. Also the sister’s son. After the museum we went a nice cafe and had dinner. Now, the friend’s mother was from Spain and Cuba, and so of course spoke spanish. Me, learning spanish, I wanted any practice I could get. So during this cafe dinner I spoke with her, in my broken spanish, with her politely correcting me when I got things too wrong, for about 20-30 minutes. It was grand.

She was a nice old lady, and I’m certainly will miss her. I can only imagine her poor grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and of course her two daughters… I think she didn’t have a single enemy in all the world.

Oh, and I also finally bothered scaling an image of myself down to LJ-size and now I have a user-picture. Certain people, who will remain nameless, had pestured me about that in the past. :P

Also, there is this song by the Rankins, sung Raylene Rankin, that is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard. It’s called “Rise Again”, and I really must give a copy to my mother, so she can give it to her two friends that lost their mother….

Here it is a snippit:

/* That as sure the sun rise, as sure as the sea. As sure as the wind in the tree, We rise again, in the faces of our children. We rise again, in the voices of our song. We rise again, in the waves out on the ocean. And the-ah-en we rise again */

Nobody can sing like the Rankin family. :)
